WATCH NOW: Copenhagen Erupts as Thousands of Danes and Greenlanders Unite Against Trump’s Greenland Ambitions

In a powerful display of solidarity, thousands of Danes and Greenlanders took to the streets of Copenhagen today, marching under a sea of red-and-white Danish and Greenlandic flags to vehemently oppose U.S. President Donald Trump’s renewed push to acquire the Arctic territory of Greenland.

The massive protest, organized by Greenlandic associations in Denmark including Uagut and the Inuit Association, began at City Hall Square with chants of “Greenland is not for sale” and “Hands off Greenland.”

Demonstrators marched toward the U.S. Embassy, waving banners and signs that read “No means No” and “Greenland for Greenlanders.”

Some participants wore red baseball caps parodying Trump’s “Make America Great Again” style, instead bearing the slogan “Make America Go Away.”

Here are scenes from the massive rally in Copenhagen, where crowds waved flags and voiced their defiance:

The demonstrations coincided with similar protests in Greenland’s capital Nuuk and other Danish cities including Aarhus, Aalborg, and Odense.

Organizers estimated over 20,000 people participated in Copenhagen alone — roughly equivalent to Nuuk’s entire population.

The outpouring of anger follows President Trump’s escalation of threats, including vows to impose 10% tariffs on Denmark and several European allies (rising to 25% in June) unless a deal is reached for the U.S. to purchase or control Greenland.

Trump has framed the move as essential for national security, citing the island’s strategic Arctic location and mineral resources, but has not ruled out more forceful options.

Here are more powerful images of the united crowds showing support for Greenland’s self-determination:

Greenlandic leaders and Danish officials have repeatedly rejected the proposals, with polls showing 85% of Greenlanders opposing any shift to U.S. control.

Today’s protests sent a clear message: the future of Greenland belongs solely to its people and the Kingdom of Denmark.

The rallies also came as a bipartisan U.S. congressional delegation visited Copenhagen to reassure allies and distance Congress from the administration’s aggressive stance.

As transatlantic tensions rise, today’s events underscore the deep opposition to any external pressure on the autonomous territory.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court has issued a stunning ruling, declaring that any military operation against Greenland without explicit congressional authorization would be considered a criminal act. In an unprecedented warning, the Court cautioned generals and soldiers that they could face prosecution for carrying out illegal orders tied to Donald Trump. But that ruling wasn’t the moment that truly shook Washington. What Trump said in response has reportedly blindsided lawmakers and is now triggering panic inside Congress, with insiders warning that the fallout could be far more explosive than the decision itself.
