SHOCKING: Supreme Court Decision Triggers Calls to Impeach Trump for Venezuela Military Offensive

Published

In a stunning and deeply polarizing 5-4 ruling late Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to block President Donald Trump’s authorization of limited military strikes against Venezuelan military targets near the Colombian border, clearing the way for what the administration calls a “defensive action” to protect American interests and regional allies.

The decision, written by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, held that the President’s Article II powers as Commander-in-Chief, combined with existing congressional authorizations against transnational criminal organizations, provided sufficient legal authority for the January 12 airstrikes that destroyed two Venezuelan army outposts allegedly used by Tren de Aragua gang operatives.

Within hours of the ruling being posted online, progressive Democrats and several moderate Republicans launched blistering attacks, accusing the President of manufacturing a crisis to distract from domestic political challenges and violating international law.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) declared on the House floor: “This is not national security. This is reckless adventurism.

The President has once again placed American service members in harm’s way without congressional approval. We are calling for immediate impeachment proceedings.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went further, posting on X: “The Supreme Court just gave a green light to illegal war. If bombing Venezuela isn’t a high crime and misdemeanor, what is? #ImpeachTrumpAgain”

Even some Republicans expressed unease. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) told reporters she was “gravely concerned about the escalation” and would “carefully review all available options,” while stopping short of endorsing impeachment.

The White House pushed back forcefully. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated: “The President acted decisively to protect the American homeland from a violent transnational criminal organization that has infiltrated our cities.

The Supreme Court has confirmed he has that authority. Attempts to impeach him for defending the nation are nothing short of unhinged.”

The strikes, which reportedly killed 14 Venezuelan soldiers and three alleged gang members, have already prompted emergency meetings at the United Nations and strong condemnation from Brazil, Mexico, and the Maduro government, which labeled the action “an act of war.”

As the political firestorm intensifies, congressional leaders have scheduled emergency caucus meetings for Monday, with impeachment articles reportedly already being drafted in the House Progressive Caucus.

Whether the calls for a third Trump impeachment will gain traction remains uncertain—but in a deeply divided Washington, the mere threat has once again gripped the nation.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court has issued a stunning ruling, declaring that any military operation against Greenland without explicit congressional authorization would be considered a criminal act. In an unprecedented warning, the Court cautioned generals and soldiers that they could face prosecution for carrying out illegal orders tied to Donald Trump. But that ruling wasn’t the moment that truly shook Washington. What Trump said in response has reportedly blindsided lawmakers and is now triggering panic inside Congress, with insiders warning that the fallout could be far more explosive than the decision itself.
