Former President Donald Trump praised Taylor Swift as “unusually beautiful,” but called her a “liberal” who “probably doesn’t like Trump,” according to an excerpt from a forthcoming book by Variety editor Ramin Setoodeh about Trump’s reality series “The Apprentice.
”his thoughts on Swift last November, and the former president responded that “she’s beautiful—very beautiful! I find her very beautiful. I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented. I think she’s very beautiful, actually—unusually beautiful.”
Setoodeh told Trump that Swift pivoted genres from country to pop, prompting Trump to target another country star instead: Garth Brooks, whom he accused of being a liberal.
Trump reportedly said Swift has “great star quality,” but said he does not know her music well.
Setoodeh interviewed Trump for his upcoming book, “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” about Trump’s former career as a reality television star.
