Tadej Pogacar’s lead in the general classification was cut to 33 seconds as Remco Evenepoel stormed to a first victory at the Tour de France. The Belgian world champion (Soudal Quick-Step) had a fright when a sudden sound caused him to sit up and bounce on his bike in the closing stages, fearing a puncture, but his 28’52” clocking was enough to land a first stage win at the Tour.
