REMCO EVENEPOEL EATS INTO TADEJ POGACAR LEAD WITH TIME TRIAL VICTORY ON STAGE 7 AT TOUR DE FRANCE

Tadej Pogacar’s lead in the general classification was cut to 33 seconds as Remco Evenepoel stormed to a first victory at the Tour de France. Evenepoel delivered on his pre-stage hype by taking the fight to the Slovenian in the 25.3km individual time trial, despite having a huge fright when he thought he had suffered a puncture late on. Primoz Roglic finished third, just ahead of Jonas Vingegaard.Remco Evenepoel chiselled away at Tadej Pogacar’s advantage at the Tour de France as he delivered on his pre-race hype to win the Stage 7 individual time trial.
The Belgian world champion (Soudal Quick-Step) had a fright when a sudden sound caused him to sit up and bounce on his bike in the closing stages, fearing a puncture, but his 28’52” clocking was enough to land a first stage win at the Tour.
