where he achieved Pro Bowl status, flirted with MVP honors, and secured a Super Bowl ring, Wentz’s career has taken a new turn. Joining the Chiefs marks the beginning of his ninth NFL season, and he’s ready to embrace his position as Mahomes’ backup.

Wentz’s approach to this new role is nothing short of professional and enthusiastic. “Pat and I already have a great relationship that’ll keep growing,” Wentz shared. “The dude has been playing at an extremely high level for a while, so I’ll try to find a way to help in whatever way I can. I’m just here to help and support.” His willingness to contribute in any capacity speaks volumes about his commitment to the team’s success. This offseason move to the Chiefs is Wentz’s fourth team switch since leaving the Eagles in 2021. Last season, he played as a backup for the Los Angeles Rams, a role he’s no stranger to. Despite the challenges of transitioning between teams, Wentz remains focused on being ready when needed. “It’s definitely different, but at the end of the day, I’m still approaching it to be ready,” he explained. “You’ve got to always be ready to go when called upon.”
