Former President Donald Trump and presumptive Republican nominee in the November general election messaged that he heard an assassin’s bullet whiz just past his head Saturday during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump’s comments appeared on Truth Social a few hours after what law enforcement has characterized as an assassination attempt.
Trump was wounded when a bullet clipped the top of his right ear, bloodying the side of his head and face.
“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” Trump messaged. “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.
