Yes, we know. We’ve got several more months to live with a 90-man roster. In fact, we’ve not even gotten through offseason training activities, rookie minicamp, more player tryouts, mandatory minicamp, or the entirety of the preseason in St. Joe for the Kansas City Chiefs.So why are we discussing the 53-man roster? We’re gluttons for punishment, we suppose.
The 2024 NFL Draft is now in the books and that was the last significant tool for teams to use for roster construction this offseason. Yes, some vets will be signed as free agents and maybe a trade or two will occur. But for the most part, we can now see how teams will stack up in a general sense for the coming season.
Because we can see draft classes in full, we thought it’d be fun to then take a look at the Chiefs roster and see how a final 53-man roster might take shape. Let’s begin with the easy part.
