JUST IN: Trump Furiously Responded to Bernie Sanders after he introduced a bill banning presidents from naming federal building and any other asset after themselves

President Donald Trump launched a sharp rebuke against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Thursday, calling the Vermont senator’s newly introduced bill a “pathetic witch hunt” and “radical left attack” on his leadership.

The controversy stems from Sanders’ **Stop Executive Renaming for Vanity and Ego (SERVE) Act**, introduced this week alongside Democratic Sens. Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks of Maryland.

The legislation seeks to prohibit sitting presidents from naming, renaming, or designating any federal building, land, or other asset after themselves, while also banning the use of federal funds for such purposes.

It would apply retroactively, requiring the reversal of recent renamings such as the addition of Trump’s name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (now styled as the Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center) and the U.S. Institute of Peace.

Sanders has repeatedly described the moves as “arrogant,” “narcissistic,” and “illegal,” arguing they mimic authoritarian tactics by creating a “myth of the ‘Great Leader'” and distract from pressing issues like affordability for American families.

In response, Trump dismissed the bill as politically motivated nonsense. Speaking to reporters, he reportedly said Sanders and his allies were “jealous losers” who couldn’t stand seeing recognition for the “tremendous work” done to revitalize federal institutions.

He called the proposal “another desperate attempt by failing Democrats to stop winning,” adding that the renamings honored his administration’s successes and that “the people love it.”

The SERVE Act has been filed as an amendment to ongoing government funding legislation and has garnered support from several Democratic senators, including Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker, and Adam Schiff.

Republicans have so far shown little interest in advancing the measure in the current Senate environment.

The clash highlights ongoing tensions between the Trump administration and congressional Democrats over executive actions perceived as self-promotional.

As debates continue, the bill’s fate remains uncertain amid broader battles over federal spending and priorities.
