NFL Rumors: Mahomes, Chiefs vs. Purdy, 49ers Super Bowl Rematch Scheduled for Week 7
Patrick Mahomes and Co. will also face playoff teams in the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in addition to their high-profile showdowns with the Ravens, Bengals and 49ers.
If the rematch against San Francisco is anything like Super Bowl LVIII, fans will be in for a treat.Mahomes drove the Chiefs into field-goal range in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime and then responded to a 49ers’ field goal with a 13-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to win the Lombardi Trophy.
He capped it off with a touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman Jr., which gave the Chiefs their second straight title and third in a five-year span.
It won’t be easy winning a third consecutive Super Bowl, especially with such a challenging schedule, but the Chiefs can send something of a statement to a fellow contender and the rest of the league when they face off with the 49ers again in Week 7
