A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex originally claimed the King’s busy schedule prevented a meeting with Prince Harry during the visit earlier this month, but it later emerged Charles did agree to put him up at a secret royal residence during the trip.
According to a palace insider who spoke to The Telegraph, Prince Harry declined the invitation because he had security fears that he would be in a “visible location with public entrance and exit points and no police protection”.
